Tell us about yourself
I hold a degree in Economics from Universidad San Pablo CEU. I have been a member of the Official Register of Auditors (ROAC) since 2009. I have extensive experience in auditing. I have led audit and assurance engagements for listed groups in the infrastructure, real estate and services sectors, under both local and international regulations (IFRS). I am currently a Partner in the Audit practice at Baker Tilly.
How do you think these last few years have influenced the way of working?
In recent years, there has been a transformation in the profession regarding the verification of non-financial information and ESG criteria of companies, with the introduction in Spain of Law 11/2018 and subsequent regulations, as well as the approval in 2023 of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This represents new areas of activity, opportunities and challenges for the profession.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career?
I would advise them not to lose enthusiasm and determination. With the former come ideas, and with the latter, results.
