Tell us about yourself
My background is both legal and economic. I have a Law Degree from the University of Barcelona, an Official Master's Degree in Economic Management from the Abat Oliba CEU University and a CECRI Postgraduate Degree in Corporate and Financial Restructuring and Insolvency from the Pompeu Fabra University (iDec).
I have always practised as a lawyer in restructuring and insolvency throughout Spain and for both national and cross-border projects. I also practice as an Insolvency Administrator and Mediator in the Civil, Commercial and Insolvency fields, accredited by the European Arbitration Association (AEADE) and the General Council of Economists (CGE).
For several years I have been Associate Professor of International Private Law at the University of Barcelona and Member of the Insolvency Law Section of the Barcelona Bar Association. At the firm I hold the position of Managing Partner of the Restructuring and Insolvency Department.
How do you think these last few years have influenced the way we work?
It is clear that 2020 marked a turning point in the way we work worldwide. In a few years it has achieved what in a normal situation would have taken, perhaps, more than a decade. I believe that we have to know how to take advantage of the changes and identify those that really contribute and those that do not. Everything is moving very fast and it is not easy. It is clear that digitalisation and artificial intelligence have made it possible and will continue to make it possible in the future to streamline processes, manage time efficiently and be more competitive.
What do you value most in your day-to-day life and being part of Baker Tilly?
What I value most in my day to day is being able to build with other teams specific solutions to solve business crisis situations. And being able to do this in an environment like Baker Tilly is very rewarding. We are a young firm with very diverse but professional profiles.
