ISO certifications in carbonate production

Reverté is a global leader in the production and marketing of technical calcium carbonates, with its own quarries in Spain of calcite (Barcelona) and white Macael marble (Almería).

Reverté produces technical calcium carbonates, starting from mineral extraction and transforming it through advanced production techniques into natural and treated carbonates, in powder form and in slurry, intended—among others—for the plastics, paper, paints and coatings, adhesives and sealants, livestock, and agriculture sectors. With modern quality and research laboratories and a strong logistics team, Reverté delivers value to customers across five continents.

The extractive industry was one of the first sectors to develop specific regulations on occupational health and safety due to the inherent risks of this type of activity. In September 2023, Reverté renewed its ISO 45001 certificate for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems at its Albox and Castellet i La Gornal plants, which have been certified since 2012.

By promoting initiatives focused on optimizing the use of its facilities and minimizing energy consumption, in December 2022 Reverté obtained ISO 50001 certification for Energy Management Systems, with the support of Baker Tilly Ecogesa, for its Albox and Castellet i La Gornal plants—validated in the follow-up audit carried out in September 2023.

In September 2023, Reverté takes a further step in its commitment to the environment by implementing an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard at the Albox plant. With this certification, it reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection and expands the management already in place at the Castellet i La Gornal plant, certified to ISO 14001 since 2009 and, since 2009, also holding EMAS certification—the scheme recognized by European Union countries as the most credible and demanding in environmental matters.
