Tell us about yourself

Graduate in Business Administration and Management. ROAC auditor with more than 20 years of experience. I am currently an audit manager at Baker Tilly.

How do you think these last few years have influenced the way you work?

New technologies have greatly facilitated the daily work of auditors, with a great development both in terms of the hardware of the equipment used and the software implemented in them. Until not so long ago (or maybe not so long ago), the auditor always carried suitcases and filing cabinets full of documentation, calculators and office material, and it was necessary to have a large amount of space in the office for filing documents. Today, in the era of digitalisation and cloud solutions, general office packages and dedicated specialised applications allow for massive data processing and the design of more effective and efficient audit tests, which results in improved assurance and support for the opinions issued. On the other hand, universal access to the Internet and improved telecommunications bandwidths have greatly enhanced remote working, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.

What do you value most about your day-to-day work and being part of Baker Tilly?

The flexibility of being able to work remotely, when I'm at home. And the close relationship with colleagues when I'm in the office.

As for being part of Baker Tilly, I value the opportunity for growth that a firm of this size offers, without the frequent depersonalisation that is common in larger firms.

"My advice to someone starting out in their career is to start small, from the ground up and build on knowledge, practice and experience"
