Tell us about yourself

I joined Baker Tilly in 2005, shortly after graduating. Then, in 2010, feeling homesick, I decided to return to my home region of Galicia. In 2016, I rejoined Baker Tilly as part of the Quality department. I am currently responsible for audit methodology. I also implement and develop IT tools and applications that make everyday work easier for the entire team.

How do you think the way we work has changed over the past few years?

The transformation of the audit profession over the past 20 years has been unimaginable.

I remember that when I was an intern, we used to carry out audit procedures on A3 worksheets, using just a pencil and paper!

Today, the new tools and software applications are incredible. I could never have imagined the advances brought about by artificial intelligence. It represents a completely new, much more efficient way of working, where what really matters is the added value we bring as professionals through our professional judgement.

What do you value most about being part of Baker Tilly?

I am fortunate to work on a wide variety of projects every year, which means I never get bored. No two years are the same. Every year brings new challenges, which I find incredibly rewarding and which allow me to grow professionally, explore new areas and develop skills I never thought I would acquire.

Baker Tilly allows me to develop professionally while maintaining an excellent work-life balance. In addition, the people at Baker Tilly are incredible. I always look forward to visiting our different offices and catching up with my colleagues.

To those starting out in auditing, I would say that it is an incredibly rewarding profession. You will learn that it is about much more than numbers and have the opportunity to gain insights into a wide range of business sectors."
