Do you know the differences between Veri*factu and electronic invoicing?
ACCIÓ, the Agency for Business Competitiveness, has announced the key points of the new 2025 grant program for environmental and sustainability projects in SMEs (Green Coupons). Below, we answer the main questions related to this call for applications.
Which organizations can apply for these grants?
Industrial or service SMEs with an operational establishment in Catalonia whose activity falls under specific categories of the Economic Activities Tax (IAE).
Specifically, organizations belonging to the following sectors may apply:
- Energy and water
- Extraction and processing of non-energy minerals and derived products
- Metal transformation industries and precision mechanics
- Other manufacturing industries
- Construction
- Trade, restaurants, accommodation, and repairs: only for waste recovery and repair companies
- Transport and communications
- Financial institutions, insurance, business services, and rentals: only for engineering firms and electronic operations for third parties
- Other services: only for groups 921.2, 921.4, 921.5, 921.6, and 936
If your SME falls within any of these categories, you can apply for the grant. If not, you are not eligible.
The SME definition also includes foundations and associations.
Which projects can be funded?
Any project aligned with reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, adapting to the impacts of climate change, and reducing the vulnerability of natural and socioeconomic systems is eligible. Examples of eligible projects include:
- Calculation of the organization or product carbon footprint and development of an emission reduction plan
- Sustainability diagnosis and definition of a sustainability strategy
- Double materiality assessment
- Implementation of environmental management systems (ISO 14001, EMAS, etc.)
- Water footprint calculation
What is the maximum grant amount?
Up to €8,000 per project.
What does the grant cover?
The grant covers the cost of the advisory service provided by a consultant accredited by ACCIÓ in the area of climate change.
In this regard, Baker Tilly has several accredited consultants.
The following costs are excluded: certification audits or external verifications, internal staff costs, supplies, consumables, or the purchase of equipment or software.
How are the grants awarded?
The grants are awarded through a non-competitive process, meaning they are granted in strict order of submission, as long as the company meets all established criteria.
When can the grants be applied for?
The call for applications is expected to be published in late May or early June. From that moment, applications can be submitted.
What should I do if I’m interested in the grant?
If you meet all the requirements and wish to apply, you can contact Baker Tilly to define the project and receive a quote for the advisory services.
