Did you know...
A tap dripping one drop per second wastes 30 liters of water per day.
What can we do to reduce water consumption in offices?
Preventive maintenance of water systems and pipes is the most effective way to avoid leaks or losses.
Install water-saving devices:
- Taps: installing aerators or flow reducers can save up to 50% of water. Single-lever taps with motion sensors or timed shut-off taps can save up to 40%. These measures can also be applied to showers.
- Toilets: installing dual-flush cisterns or stop-button mechanisms can save more than 50% of water per flush. For older cisterns, counterweight systems can be used, which only release water while the handle is held down. This measure achieves around 30% savings per flush. You can also place a bottle filled with water inside the cistern—away from the valve—to displace volume that would otherwise be filled with water.
Staff best practices:
- Use water responsibly.
- If a leak or water escape is detected, inform the person in charge of maintenance.
- Do not use toilets as trash bins.
