Did you know…
1 liter of printer ink is more expensive than a bottle of Dom Pérignon!
In addition to the financial cost, it also has an environmental cost, as it contains toxic substances and its manufacturing process uses many natural resources.
What can we do to reduce the environmental impact of ink consumption?
- Go paperless by saving/printing documents in PDF format.
- Select draft mode when printing.
- Choose a font that uses less ink*.
* Ink consumption is not the same if, for example, we print a document using Cooper Black versus Garamond, the latter being much lighter. Below is a list of fonts from lower to higher ink consumption to consider if we want to save ink:
- Spranq Eco Sans
- Garamond
- Courier
- Times New Roman
- Verdana
- Cooper Black
- Impact
The Spranq Eco Sans font is one of the so-called eco-fonts, as it is a perforated typeface that can reduce ink consumption by up to 50%.
